Doug Burke, Ph.D.
Research Analyst

Dr. Doug Burke received his Bachelor and Master's degrees from Brigham Young University in Microbiology and his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Brigham Young University. He spent several years working as a research and teaching assistant at Brigham Young University. He was also a teaching assistant in chemistry/biochemistry, physical education, and microbiology labs and classes.

Dr. Burke has worked as a Research Analyst for Nu Skin since 1990. He has been heavily involved in research for Nu Skin's Personal Care as well as Interior Design Nutritionals (Pharmanex) divisions, although currently he is almost exclusively involved with Pharmanex. Dr. Burke helped lay the groundwork for Interior Design Nutritionals' philosophy of eating a low-fat, high-carbohydrate, high-fiber diet and living a healthy lifestyle, as being the most scientific way to effectively manage weight on a long-term basis. Through his background and also his awareness of current scientific literature regarding topics of interest to Nu Skin, he was able to help provide important knowledge and ingredient ideas for some of our top selling products including LifePak, OverDrive, and many other products.

Dr. Burke's primary function is to provide needed information to the Pharmanex scientists to help provide scientific substantiation for pertinent Pharmanex topics including products, ingredients, and philosophy (e.g. healthy lifestyle, etc.). Another function is to participate in clinical trials by gathering needed information to put together protocols. Dr. Burke has published four research papers.
