Cheer Up—Omega-3 Fatty Acids May Increase Brain Health/Mood

December 7, 2004 — The Health News Digest released an article last month indicating the positive effects of omega-3 fatty acids in promoting a healthy positive outlook. The article referenced a Finnish study that indicated individuals who frequently consumed fish, which are high in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, were more likely to experience a positive mental outlook. Another study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2003 suggested a higher intake of omega-3 fatty acids was associated with a lower risk of normal age-related cognitive decline. The results provide rationale that supplementing with omega-3 fatty acids early in life may decrease the risk of cognitive decline in the aging process.

Multiple studies already indicate diets containing omega-3 fatty acids help support heart health and mounting evidence suggest omega-3 fatty acids may also promote brain health as well.

MarineOmega
MarineOmega from Pharmanex® is a unique and potent source of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids from ultra-pure fish oil and Antarctic krill, a small crustacean found in abundance in the ocean. Fatty fish are an extremely high source of beneficial fatty acids. Krill oil has a high concentration of EPA and DHA in a unique phospholipid form that makes them highly bioavailable for use in the brain and cell membranes throughout the body. Krill oil also contains the antioxidant carotenoid astaxanthin and a unique flavonoid that is the first flavonoid to be extracted from a non-plant or algae source.

Benefits of MarineOmega include boosting the body's immune response, supporting cardiovascular health, promoting brain function and wellness, improving joint function and mobility, and promoting healthy skin conditions. Used together, MarineOmega and LifePak® constitute the most comprehensive anti-aging supplement program available, providing the nutrients necessary for longevity and wellness typically lacking in most diets. MarineOmega is made of the purest fish oils, which are tested for toxins and contaminants through our strict Pharmanex® 6S Quality Process.*
